Model Description: The Parameterized Open-X features a bracket and arm based on the redesigned PSU Open-X model in OpenSCAD. The primary adjustment is the angle of the arm, which can be set between 30 and 45 degrees, defaulting to 45.

Usage: This model is designed for use in 3D printers, providing a reliable mounting solution for bearings and enhancing the overall structure of the carriage.

Construction Features:

  • Reduced radius at the top of the bracket to prevent protrusion above the carriage.
  • Slot replaced by a simple screw hole.
  • Cylindrical extension next to the bearing reduced by 1 mm, with a taper for better fit.
  • Carriage based on Open-X Carriage mk2 with modifications: one screw head recess removed and a thick curved inner wall added for structural integrity.

Printing Recommendations: It is recommended to print with 100% infill for maximum sturdiness.

An additional module is provided for visualizing the assembled parts along with X bars and bearings, useful for assessing the impact of your edits. Parameter change instructions are included in comments at the top of the openx.scad file.

Required Parts:

  • 1 x Carriage
  • 1 x Arm
