Glaucus is an open-source soft robotic quadruped inspired by the Blue Sea Slug (Glaucus Atlanticus). This model serves as a proof of concept for a method developed by Super-Releaser, enabling the reproduction of any computer-modeled geometry using seamless silicone skin.
The quadruped features hollow interior chambers that interconnect. When one of these chambers is pressurized, it deforms and bends the robot's structure, mimicking the walking motion of a salamander by balancing on one pair of legs while moving the opposite pair forward.
Printing Recommendations: It is recommended to use a Makerbot Replicator 2 printer with PLA material, using 3 shells and 10% infill. Add support features like mouse ears to prevent curling and distortion. Each part has a print time ranging from 6 to 8 hours.
