Dtto v1.0 is a modular transformable robot designed for research and educational purposes. It is capable of adopting various shapes by changing the positions and connections of its modules.
This robot is intended for studying modular self-reconfigurable systems. It allows modules to communicate, mechanically connect and disconnect, and work collaboratively for efficient locomotion and self-reconfiguration.
Future applications of the robot may include rescue operations, exploration of unknown environments, and space exploration. Plans also include equipping the modules with cameras, ultrasonic sensors, gyroscopes, and other sensors.
The robot is fully printed using open-source 3D printers, utilizes open-source hardware, and has been designed entirely in FreeCad. It is inspired by MTRAN III from the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), Japan.
