This model is an almost fully 3D-printed mbira/kalimba musical instrument designed for practice and playing quietly without disturbing others.
Construction Features:
- Approximate total weight of 500 grams, with around 400 grams being printed parts.
- The assembly requires glue and screws/nuts.
- Tuning range from E2 to E4, with additional capability within C2-C4 and G2-G4 ranges.
Printing Recommendations:
- Use PLA or any rigid material for all parts; TPU is not suitable.
- Print with 100% infill for durability, especially for the tongues.
- Include supports to ease the printing process.
