Model Description: The Sane Fan System (SFS) is a comprehensive fan shroud modification for the Ender 3, addressing multiple issues of existing cooling systems.

Purpose: This model provides effective part cooling and hotend cooling, improving print quality and reducing overheating risks.

Design Features:

  • Dual 5015 blower for part cooling;
  • 4010 or 4020 fan for hotend cooling;
  • Compatibility with popular bed leveling sensors;
  • No reduction in build volume;
  • Balanced mass;
  • Aftermarket hotend compatibility;
  • Prints without supports;
  • Modular design;
  • Sleek and modern appearance.

Printing Recommendations: SFS_Duct should be printed slowly using PETG or ABS. PLA is possible but not recommended. Consider laser-cutting the mounting plate from stainless steel, 6061 aluminum, or acrylic at a thickness of 2-4 mm for enhanced durability.

Assembly Instructions: Install 10 M3x4x4 threaded brass inserts around the main body. Attach the mounting plate below the main body using 4 M3x6 screws. Mount the body and plate assembly into the carriage, sandwiching the hotend in between. Insert threaded brass inserts into the 5015 fan mounting holes and secure the fans to their mounts. Attach the fan duct to the main body and wire your fans. Assembly complete!
