This model of ceramic coasters is created by merging 3D printing with ceramics. I explored how these two technologies intersect to produce unique items.
- Design: I utilized 3D-printed cutters to create drink coasters.
- Dimensions: Coasters are scaled up by 10% to account for clay shrinkage, achieving a diameter of 100-110 mm post-firing.
- Technology: The cutter features an outward slanted edge for a cleaner cut and allows for various flat shapes.
- Additional: Felt or cork backing is planned to protect surfaces from scratches.
These coasters are ideal for use as hot pads due to the material and manufacturing technique.
