This 3D model of the Lewis gun is a remix created by jfpion. Key features include:

  • a magazine sourced from MaksimV13;
  • a bipod added by me;
  • the option for magazine swapping for enhanced realism.

It is recommended to print the model at a larger scale to ensure the bipod functions correctly. Printing it flat on the printer bed maximizes size.

About the Lewis Gun: Developed around 1911 by Colonel Isaac Newton Lewis in the USA, the design was initially rejected due to a general's bias, leading him to Belgium to establish production. The British recognized its potential and brought him to Britain. The gun uses .303 British or .30-06 ammunition, features a 47-round pan magazine, and fires from an open bolt. The distinctive barrel cover enhances cooling, representing a significant innovation. It stands out for its mobility compared to other machine guns like the Maxim and Chauchat.

Happy printing!
