Rear wiper drive gear for Volvo XC90 Problem: Often the rear wiper of the Volvo XC90 (I and II generations) stops working due to the licking of the teeth of the plastic gear in the gearbox. The original unit is sold only complete with a motor, which is unreasonably expensive. Solution: This 3D model is designed to print a reinforced part that completely replaces a worn-out factory part. Model specifications: Compatibility: Volvo XC90 (models of different years of production, check the compatibility by the number of teeth). Geometry: Exact copy of the original part, maintaining all tolerances for smooth worm gear operation. Optimization: The model is adapted for FDM and photopolymer (SLA/DLP) printing. Printing guidelines: In order for the part to serve for a long time and withstand mechanical loads, we recommend using the following parameters: Material: Nylon or PETG. Nylon is preferred due to its wear resistance and low coefficient of friction. Filling: 100% (Solid). Layers: 0.1 – 0.15 mm for maximum tooth detail. Post-processing: Abundant lubrication (lithium or silicone) is required when installing into the gearbox. Benefits: Savings: The cost of printing is tens of times lower than buying a new motor. Reliability: When using high-quality plastic, the service life of the part is comparable to the original. Simple replacement: Installed in a standard seat without modifications. Important: Before installation, make sure that the wiper shaft is not soured. If the shaft rotates slowly, this is what caused the old gear to break - be sure to clean and lubricate the mechanism.
