Description:

Model: Panzer VIII Maus (Ausf. A).
Design: A simplified, sloped-front design proposed in 1944 to replace the original curved face.
Issues: The original design was more difficult to manufacture and acted as a shot trap.
Nickname: The 'Henschel turret' is a common name for the production turret of the Tiger II, although it was actually designed by Krupp.
Application: It was fitted to the Henschel-produced Tiger II hulls.
