Problem: The rubber or plastic base of the antenna on the roof of the Mercedes A-Class and B-Class shrinks and cracks over time. This is a critical failure: through cracks, rainwater gets under the ceiling lining, causing stains, an unpleasant odor and corrosion of the electronic circuit boards of the antenna amplifier. The manufacturer often suggests replacing the antenna assembly only, which is very expensive.
Solution: This digital 3D model is a high-precision copy of the housing (cover) of the antenna base. It allows you to restore the tightness of the unit without replacing expensive electronics. The model is designed to fit snugly into the curve of the W169 and W245 roof.
Model specifications:
Compatibility: * Mercedes-Benz A-Class (W169) 2004–2012.
Mercedes-Benz B-Class (W245) 2005–2011.
OEM Part Numbers for reference: A1698201875, A1698202875, A1698201975, A1698200475.
File format: STL (completely ready for 3D printing).
Design features: Improved seats for the antenna mast for tighter fixation.
3D Printing Recommendations:
The part is located at the highest point of the car in direct sunlight and rain:
Material: ASA or ABS recommended. ASA is ideal for outdoor use as it does not fade under UV rays or crack due to temperature changes. PETG is acceptable subject to subsequent painting. PLA cannot be used.
Filling: 100% (Solid) to ensure complete sealing and strength.
Layer height: 0.1 – 0.15 mm for a smooth surface.
Installation: During installation, it is recommended to use a thin layer of automotive sealant around the perimeter for 100% protection against leaks.
Benefits:
Dry Roof: Prevents costly ceiling cleaning and electronic repairs.
Savings: The cost of 3D printing is tens of times lower than the price of a new original antenna.
Availability: The digital file can be downloaded and printed immediately after purchase.
