Problem: The backrest locking mechanism in carp chairs (Type 1) is subject to enormous stress, especially when the angler leans back. The plastic teeth inside the hinge chip and the backrest stops locking, making the chair unusable. It is impossible to find an original repair kit in fishing stores - they usually offer to buy a new chair.
Solution: This 3D digital model (STL) is a strengthened version of the original Type 1 joint. We have modified the design to increase the tooth contact patch and body wall thickness, allowing the printed part to support more weight than factory plastic.
Model specifications:
Compatibility: Popular carp and feeder chairs (CARP, Ranger, Flagman and analogues with Type 1 hinge).
Purpose: Complete replacement of the internal tilt adjustment unit.
File format: STL (high precision, optimized for 3D printing).
Design: Exact match to the diameter of the frame tubes and mounting bolts.
3D Printing Recommendations:
The chair is used outdoors under constant static pressure:
Material: Only engineering plastic is recommended: Nylon (Nylon) or PA6-CF (polyamide with carbon fiber). Nylon has the necessary viscosity so that the teeth do not chip when tightening. PLA should absolutely not be used; PETG may not withstand cyclic load.
Filling: 100% (Solid) - the part must be monolithic.
Layer height: 0.15 – 0.2 mm.
Post-processing: Removing supports and checking alignment before installing into metal frame.
Benefits:
Increased Strength: Ability to use higher quality polymers than those found in the factory.
Savings: Repairs cost 10–15 times less than buying a new chair.
Instant access: The file is available for download immediately after payment.
