This compact, DIY soldering fume extractor features a 12V DC axial fan and an activated charcoal filter. It includes a barrel-jack power input, a toggle switch, and a straightforward power supply, all housed in a 3D-printed enclosure.

While not a professional-grade filtration system, this extractor effectively removes solder smoke, adding an extra layer of safety during small electronics projects. Additionally, a square ring light made from four LED strip segments enhances visibility while soldering. An STL template is provided to help secure the strips, solder them, and attach the finished light directly onto the hood.

All components were printed using standard matte black PLA for the main housing and white PLA for the hood, with a 20% infill and a layer height of 0.18 mm for optimal strength and accuracy. For the bill of materials and instructions, check out the YouTube video linked below.
