This model is a trimming jig for 35mm film used in bottom-loading cameras, known as Barnack style cameras, named after designer Oscar Barnack. The most famous example is Leica, but other brands like Canon also produced similar models.

Loading the film requires trimming the leader to about half its width for a length of approximately 100mm (4 inches) to prevent damage to the shutter curtain. This jig simplifies the trimming process. To use, pull the film from the canister to a length of 100mm (4 inches), place it on the jig side with locating pins, ensuring the sprocket holes align with the pins. Close the jig and trim the film along the contour using a sharp knife, such as a #11 hobby knife.

The prototype was printed on a Kingroon KP3S using PLA Plus filament. Layer height: 0.16mm. Supports: None.
