This center hub cap is designed for BBS RZ Style 5 wheels suitable for 15-inch BMW E30. Each cap consists of 4 parts:
- Plate
- Nut
- Thread
- Insert
Additionally, you will need:
- 8 M8 bolts
- 4 BMW 68mm wheel badges (part number 36136783536)
The threads and insert are meant to remain in the wheel and are only removed when changing or balancing tires. I recommend using ASA for printing, as it has better weather and temperature resistance compared to PLA and ABS, which I initially used for prototypes.
Printing Instructions:
You will need to determine your own settings as everyone's printer is different. Print the insert, plate, and thread without supports; print the nut with supports and upside down.
Assembly:
- Insert the insert into the center of the wheel with the tapered side facing out.
- Align the holes and secure with bolts.
- Slide the plate onto the three slots in the threaded part and onto the three pins on the wheel.
- Hand-tighten the nut. Keep track of the nut's position relative to the tire valve for future reference.
Ensure all parts fit well together, which can be checked without removing the wheel. It may be wise to use nylon M8 nuts on the back of the bolts for additional security. You might need to scale parts slightly (±1%) for better fit on your wheels.
