This is a model of the Volvo A60 H RC dump truck in 1:14 scale. You'll need the following for assembly:
- Six Dagu Wild Thumper wheels and tires or equivalents.
- A minimum of two (preferably six) 37mm brushed geared motors with speed control.
- A standard size high torque steering servo rated for 10kg or more.
I wasn't satisfied with the performance of the 1" brushed motor/screw drive lift system, so I opted for a pair of 140mm Actuonix linear actuators instead. Although they are quite expensive, if you're skilled in metalworking, you may create a center mount engine and propeller design that works better. Using 1mm thick aluminum sheet to reinforce the top and bottom of the tipper body will help reduce damage from repeated hits. Side mirrors and reinforced lugs for accommodating 2 x 140mm actuators have also been added.
