A simple tool for separating the crankcases of air-cooled Volkswagen engines. You will need:
- 3/8 bolt
- washers
The bolt should be about 1 3/4 inches long. Trim a 2-inch bolt to achieve maximum separation. Place it in the oil pump recess in the engine housing and tighten the nut until the housing cracks. It's that simple.
