This is a replacement part for the hood latch of a 1998 Honda Civic. The pull part of the Civic hood latch can snap off in cold temperatures, and the only replacement available is the entire latch and cable. This design allows you to superglue this replacement latch over the remaining plastic on the cable from your last latch.
It is customizable; if you choose to remove the old plastic, you can decrease the inner cylinder size. I used superglue to attach this latch, sanding down the old plastic and filing the inside of the new latch slightly for a perfect fit.
The photo shows the latch in place on the car.
