The nutcracker is a holiday staple collected by people of all ages. Folklore states that nutcrackers were gifted to families to bring them good luck and protect their homes. The MakerBot Nutcracker was designed with a classic approach but with a modern twist - you can create it yourself!

This beautifully designed multi-part print is suitable for any MakerBot printer. Parts snap-fit together, and you can unleash your imagination with color; however, note that this assembly is not recommended for novices.

Printing Settings and Instructions:

Print pieces in these colors or use your own palette. We recommend keeping pieces in these color groupings for easier assembly.

Piece Colors:

True Red: Arms, Back Lever, Body Bottom, Body Top
True White: Gloves, Hair, Mustache, Eyes, Legs
True Blue: Iris Clips
True Black: Belt, Boots Bottom, Boots Top, Hat, Shoulder Buttons
True Yellow: Belt Buckle, Boot Band, Buttons, Hat Straps, Shoulder Pads, Hat Decorations
Peach: Ears, Head, Jaw

Assembly:

It's helpful to have tweezers and a mallet on hand to assist with assembly. Most pieces will snap together without glue.

Start with the Boots Bottom facing you. Attach the Boot Band to the top of the Boots Bottom with the recessed piece facing up. Place the Boots Top over the Boot Band.
Secure the Boots Top with the Legs. Knees should be bent forward slightly. Attach the Body Bottom, recessed side down, to the Legs. Insert (2) Buttons into the Body Bottom.
Attach the Belt to the Body Bottom with the nub facing forward-right. Attach the Belt Buckle to the nub. Attach the Body Top to the Belt. Insert (6) Buttons into the Body Top.
Attach the Head to the Body Top.
Attach the Right Arm to the Right Shoulder Pad and Left Arm to the Left Shoulder Pad. Insert (2) Shoulder Buttons into the tops of the Shoulder Pads. Attach the Right Glove to the Right Arm and Left Glove to the Left Arm. Insert (8) Buttons into the front and back of both Gloves.
Attach the Right Shoulder Pad to the Body Top. Attach the Left Shoulder Pad to the Body Top.
Attach the Jaw (serrated groove facing up) to the Back Lever (handle pointing down).
Insert the Jaw into the Head, then insert the Rod through the Jaw and Head.
Attach the Right Ear and Left Ear to the Head. Attach the Mustache to the Head. Attach the Hair to the Head. Insert the Irises into the Eyes and the Eyes into the Head.
Attach the Hat to the Head with Clips.
Insert the Hat Decorations into the Hat. Insert the Belt Back into the Back Lever. Insert the Hat Straps into the Jaw and Head.
Attach the Head to the Body with the longest Clip.
