The "Mistral 2.x" cooling duct is specifically designed to enhance the cooling capabilities of your 3D printer and achieve high-quality print results.

Key Features:

  • Effectively blows high-volume air onto the filament just beyond the nozzle.
  • Avoids cooling air on the heat block, preventing false alarms.
  • Compact and lightweight design weighing approximately 4.4 grams to minimize the load on the extruder.
  • Two ducts positioned at 90° for optimal airflow to the backside of the printed object.

This cooling duct is intended for use with the standard unmodified A8 printer. It is recommended to print the duct in ABS or PETG for better heat resistance, but it works effectively with PLA as well. When printing with high-temperature filaments like ABS, it's advisable to temporarily remove the cooling duct. Depending on the model, it may be necessary to reduce the fan speed to 75% or lower.

Printing Instructions:

  • Print the duct upright.
  • When mounting the fan back to the extruder bracket, ensure it is positioned at its lowest point before tightening the two screws.
  • Make sure the nozzle is centered between the two ducts to avoid thermal runaway.

For calibration of the nozzle, you can use the "PID Autotuning" function in Marlin firmware.
