This fan duct is designed to improve print quality. It's a 100% free and open-source alternative to an existing fan duct, whose license prevented modifications. I used Blender to create this duct from scratch.

Key Features:

  • Efficiency: more effective compared to the semi-circular design and the stock Anet A8 fan duct.
  • Quietness: operates quieter, does not block the view, allowing visibility of the nozzle tip.
  • Reliability: uses my own attachment design, eliminating the need for tape or glue to secure the duct.
  • Airflow: provides a wider airflow split into two streams, enhancing cooling.
  • Temperature Stability: maintains a stable temperature (plus/minus 0.5C) when properly tuned.
  • Lightweight: weighs only 3 grams, significantly lighter than many other fan ducts.

The design is open-source and available in .blend format. You are free to modify and share any remixed designs.

Testing was done using the Marvin Key Chain. Recommended print settings: layer height - 0.2mm, temperature - 190C, print speed - 30mm/s for the outer shell, 60mm/s for the inner shell.

Test results show that this duct significantly reduces sagging compared to other designs.
