MakerBot's T-Rex Skeleton 3D Model is a stunning piece of art, now enhanced for easier printing.

Improvements made:

  • Tail parts A and B fixed: internal structures added for enhanced strength.
  • Separated parts: arms, tail segments, femurs, and tibias can now be printed individually for best quality.
  • For printing ribs, it's recommended to print the entire rib cage on its side with support; the rib_cage.STL file is included. Ensure to enable Support Interface in Cura for easy support removal.
  • Merged the H clips into a single file.
  • Included a one-piece base for those with large enough build plates, eliminating seam issues.

Printing Settings:

  • Only the left arm and left individual ribs are included; mirror them to print the right counterparts.
  • Using 8mm of brim is strongly recommended for all parts except H clips and rib cage.
  • For enhanced first-layer adhesion, use Aqua Net Super Hold hairspray, applying a light coat and allowing it to dry. Avoid using for large bases or contact area models.
  • Group tall and thin tail parts closely together for improved cooling.
  • While the original design aimed for support-free printing, using support at 60-70 degrees on some parts (rib cage, jaw, arms, neck, and tail tip) is advisable. Ensure to use Support Interface for easy removal.

Happy printing!
