Model Overview: This model is a 3D-printable straight section of WR-90 waveguide with UG-39/U flanges, designed for microwave frequencies (8.2–12.4 GHz).

Purpose: It is suitable for RF experiments, including return loss and insertion loss testing.

Construction Features:

  • Inner bore dimensions: 0.9" x 0.4" (22.86 mm x 10.16 mm), matching WR-90 specifications.
  • UG-39/U compatible flange with a 4-hole mounting pattern.
  • Material: Printed in PLA (PETG version planned), with post-processing options available.

Printing Recommendations:

  • Print time: Approximately 2 hours on a Prusa Core One (0.2 mm layer, 50–60 mm/s, 20–30% infill).
  • Slice using PrusaSlicer or equivalent (0.2 mm layer, 50–60 mm/s, 20–30% infill, 3–4 perimeters).
  • Print on a bed with good adhesion (e.g., glue stick).
  • Optional post-processing: Apply Bondo + acetone to fill layer lines and coat with conductive paint for RF applications.

Assembly: Align with UG-39/U flanges using provided holes and secure with screws.

Testing: Use a VNA (8–12 GHz) to measure S11/S21.
