The G Scale Shorty Boxcar is a unique model inspired by Bachmann® Li'l Big Haulers® railroad cars. It is printed on a Bambu P1S using PETG filament, with PLA not recommended for outdoor use.
Features:
- Utilizes the Split to Objects tool in Bambu Studio for part organization.
- The roof requires normal (auto) support, while the walls use tree (auto) support.
- Small rods on the wheel frame benefit from manual support.
Parts List:
- 9 @ #2 x ½” pan head screws
- 4 @ #2 x ⅝” pan head screws
- 1 @ Kadee #906 couplers set
- 1 @ Bachmann #92421 31mm Metal Wheel Set (2 of 4)
- 1 @ 2mm Brass Round Rod of desired length
Assembly Instructions:
- Attach couplers to the floor bottom using #2 x ⅝” pan head screws.
- Secure walls to the roof with 5 @ #2 x ½” pan head screws.
- Ensure brake rod holder dimples are on the same side.
- Use 2 @ #2 x ½” pan head screws to attach one wheel frame to the floor bottom.
- Insert wheel axle ends into both wheel frames while attaching the other wheel frame to the floor bottom with 2 @ #2 x ½” pan head screws.
- Slide doors into place.
- Press assembled floor into walls. Optionally glue with UHU plastics cement or CA glue.
- Glue brake rod holders into the dimples on the side of the assembled car.
- Wait for glue to dry.
- Slide the 2mm Brass Round Rod through the top rod holder and through the single hole in the bottom rod holder until it stops.
- Determine the desired height of the brake wheel on the rod and cut it if necessary.
- Slide the rod back in, cut side down, and secure the brake wheel with CA glue.
