When placing new brake pads on the rear of a Chrysler or Dodge minivan, the brake caliper piston must be retracted. This is done by screwing it in clockwise using a special tool due to the odd shape of the piston face.

I remixed an existing model to enhance the shape, allowing for a more stable fit on the piston face with the cylindrical collar keeping the tool centered. I also enlarged the collar by 0.8mm, as the original was too tight.

  • Usage Tip: I found that attaching the bottom of the piston housing to the top part of the caliper assembly (just finger-tighten with one bolt) holds the piston assembly in place, making it MUCH easier to use the tool.

Note: The hole for the 3/8 inch socket drive is very tight, and I found it necessary to tap it in with a hammer. You might want to print more than one, as they do wear out, especially if you slip.
