This 3D model of a rocket is similar to the V2 design but features a single perimeter that allows for the use of the spiral vase mode in Slic3r to eliminate seams.
Printing settings and instructions: - Ensure to rotate the model in Slic3r so that the rocket is upright for printing.
- Recommended settings: 1.75mm T-Glase, 0.6mm nozzle (actual nozzle is 0.5mm), 0.5mm layer height, 0.6mm extrusion width, 10mm/s speed, spiral vase mode, zero infill, vertical shell perimeters (min) = 1, 220 degrees Celsius on the extruder, 60 degrees Celsius on the bed.
- If not rescaled, the rocket is approximately 5.5 inches tall.
- At a layer height of 0.5mm, this model is strong enough for display purposes only and is not intended for flight. Any defect during printing can become a weak point where layers may separate under stress.
- You can print at 0.2mm layer height for added strength, but it will lose much of its transparency.
- Alternatively, print with more vertical shell perimeters, but you should disable the spiral vase mode, resulting in visible seams.
- If the tip appears slightly wobbly, it can be easily straightened with an X-acto knife.
